My Philosophy and Values 

 

I am more than just one of many photographers in Lafayette La. I’m a storyteller with a camera. I know the difference between taking a picture and making a picture. To me, photography is so much more than clicking away to snap a portfolio full of monotonous pictures. My personal belief is that a great photograph tells a story. I strive to use this philosophy everyday to guide my work.

 It’s the tear streaming down your cheek as you go through your wedding day pictures, reliving special moments with those you hold close. It’s the smile that creeps across your face when you see an image of one of your favorite cities.

It’s emotion and life, and most of all—it’s storytelling. One of my favorite Leonardo da Vinci quotes is, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” In my storytelling, I strive to use that simplicity to create effortless elegance and original photography.

My style is to use a simple approach, I recognize candid moments in real time and photograph them. Your life is the story, it’s my job to document it. 

When posing is necessary, I prefer to use an interactive photojournalistic approach. My goal is to get in you into a position to best capture you in great light, all while keeping a candid feel to the photograph.
